Tony Mokbel, 55, was arrested in Greece in June 2007 after giving vital clues regarding his whereabouts during a phone call home after a friend passed away, claims a source from the underworld.

The drug baron fled Australia to Europe on a boat while on trial for cocaine smuggling. This was followed by an international manhunt, but police finally found Mokbel after tapping his phone lines and getting important clues from a phone conversation between him and Joe Mansour.

Informer 3030, a police snitch, had given authorities a list of phone numbers to track Mokbel and was rewarded with $1 million for his role in finding him.

Mokbel gave away important information when he called to offer condolences to a man named David after his father, Max, died of a heart attack.
