On Wednesday organisers of the Greek Super League put forward a proposal to reintroduce football fans into stadiums.

Football stadiums have remained empty for months in order to keep professionals and fans safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organisers presented the plan at a meeting held by Sports Minister Lefteris Avgenakis and Deputy Civil Protection Minister Nikos Hardalias.

The proposal outlines the strict enforcement of health and safety protocols, from the moment a football goer reserves a ticket online, to ensuring a safe arrival, entry and departure on and off the premises.

Organisers also included a list of severe penalties for those who refuse to comply with the rules.

Health Ministry experts will assess the proposal, but for now Super League fans will have to continue watching from home.
