Aris, Olympiacos, AEK and PAOK have continued to show why they reign supreme in this season’s Greek Super League after winning last weekend’s matches.

Aris remain on top of the standings with 16 points thanks to a 1-0 own goal win against Asteras Tripolis made by Triantafyllos Pasalidis.

Reds’ superstar forward Ahmed Hassan shone on the field once again, this time scoring both goals for the team, beating out Apollon Smyrnis.

Hassan swooped in on the second half, after a goalless first to score in the 65th minute before coming back to deal some extra damage a mere 7 minutes later.

The win bumped up Olympiacos to 13 points from five games.

AEK follow close behind on the same points with six games however, due to the 2-1 victory over visitors OFI Crete.

OFI seemed to have a tight grip on the game early on as Fabio Sturgeon scored for the Cretans six minutes in, but the lead was short lived.

In the 32nd defender Ionuts Nedelcearu equalised the score, before midfielder Yevhen Shakhov nailed AEK’s victory in the 74th minute.

PAOK regained a late lead, showing promise from the beginning of the game as Karol Swiderski managed a goal 18 minutes in.

Things really heated up in the second half as Panetolikos forward Gboly Ariyibi equalised the game with a penalty at the 54 minute mark.

It was a brilliant freekick by Nika Ninua and a winning penalty by Antonio Colak that brought PAOK a 3-1 victory and 12 points on the board.

Volos also sits with 12 points, drawing 1-1 after hosting Thessaly rival Larissa and in an incredible upset PAS Giannina defeated Atromitos 2-0.

After a slow season, Panathinaikos won its first game thanks to Carlitos holding up the team scoring both goals against Lamia.

The teams will be back this weekend for matchday eight, which you can catch in Australia over Sunday and Monday mornings.
