The number of Greek Australian billionaires has increased according to the Australian Financial Review!

Gina Reinhardt continues to dominate the list with assets worth $28.9 billion, followed by Andrew Forrest ($23 bn), Anthony Pratt & family ($19.75 bn), Hui Wing Mau ($18.06 bn), Mike Cannon-Brookes ($16.93 bn), Scott Farquhar ($16.69 bn), Harry Triguboff ($14.42 bn), Clive Palmer (9.18 bn), Frank Lowy ($8.3 bn) and Kerry Stokes (6.26 bn).

There are three Greek Australians among the richest 100. The wealthiest of the lot is Nick Politis, ranked 79th, with assets worth $1.31. Dubbed as the “car king”, Mr Politis has 28 privately owned car dealerships under his name and also serves as Sydney Roosters chairman. He is followed a few positions down by Con Makris and family in the 82nd position.

The family’s wealth is at $1.25 bn and began from a humble chicken shop when Con first migrated to Adelaide as a teen in 1964. From humble beginnings the family has amassed a property development empire. Next on the list is the Paspaley family fortune at $1.25 bn, placing it in 83rd position. The family fortune began when the late Nicholas Paspaley Sr founded the family’s renowned pearling company after fleeing from Kastellorizo in WWI.
