Carers can now access greater support with the introduction of the new support groups that will run for four weeks, starting on Monday 23 November.

The four weekly sessions are free for anyone caring for a family member or friend.

Carers provide a vital role in our society, however, carers themselves can experience a range of health, financial or social impacts as a result of their caring role.

This 4-week program aims to provide a safe space for carers to gather, to share and importantly take a little bit of time out of their hectic and demanding days, just for them. So often, the day of a carer is filled with responsibilities and tasks that does not allow them to take time out for themselves to recharge and recover. Living through COVID restrictions and lockdowns and the approaching festive season can make the life of a carer even more challenging. Within this group we aim to provide that time-out space through conversation and meditation.

If you are caring for someone and no matter where you are located, you don’t have to be alone. We invite you to join one of these groups for time out and self-care.

Join either the Monday afternoon or the Thursday morning group. Sessions will be conducted in English and will be facilitated by Lucy Louca, Community Engagement Officer at PRONIA. Lucy holds Counselling qualifications and is a registered meditation teacher with Meditation Association of Australia.
