Victoria Malliaras, at 22 weeks pregnant, and her husband feared she would become “homeless” as their flight aboard Qatar Airways from London to Adelaide on Thursday was cancelled.
She and her husband were going to head to Adelaide for mandatory quarantine before returning to Melbourne before the South Australian Government cancelled all inbound international flights, including theirs.
“The anxiety I feel right now is extreme. I can’t concentrate [on anything else],” Ms Malliaras told ABC, fearing she would be homeless.
“I feel extremely vulnerable with my pregnancy and I’m very worried about how this anxiety is impacting the health and development of our baby.
“I’m literally not sleeping at the moment as I’m so stressed.”
When Neos Kosmos spoke to her she was somewhat relieved. “We’ve now been lucky enough to secure a flight with Qatar to Brisbane on 19 November. We’ll be home very soon! Thank you again,” she said.
