Victorians will no longer have to wear face masks in most outdoor settings as part of the latest easing of restrictions announced by the Victorian Government.

More than three weeks of no new coronavirus cases means Victoria can safely move to the Last Step of the Roadmap to Reopening.

Premier Daniel Andrews said, “Taking this step towards reopening is a credit to every Victorian who has followed the rules – and a demonstration of what we can achieve when we work together.” “Here and around the world we have seen how infectious this virus is – and how rapidly it can spread. It’s why we need to continue to follow the advice of our medical experts.”

As of today, Victorians can now host 15 visitors at their home per day, while up to 50 can gather outside in a public place like a park or the beach.

Face masks remain compulsory indoors, including public transport, unless you have a medical exemption. Face masks must also be worn in taxis and in ride share services.

But a mask does not have to be worn outdoors, unless you are not able to maintain 1.5m physical distancing from people you don’t live with – for example, at a busy outdoor market or queuing outside a restaurant.
Victorians are required to carry a mask with them at all times.
