Chatziko, a kitten, sits permanently by the graves of his former owners in Astros in the Peloponnese.

Adopted by Antonio Douros and his wife, Giota, who passed away last Spring a month apart from each other, the kitten had lived with them for a few months before their passing.

Following their deaths, the kitten disappeared. Townspeople tried to find it, however it was nowhere to be seen until Father Stavros Delimanolis said that the cat appeared out of the blue at the cemetery where his former owners were buried.

Cemetery workers immediately recognised the cat, and it now lives permanently at the cemetery.

Staff members feed it daily and have created special shelter to ensure that it is safe.
