Australia saw ‘coronavirus’ come in second in both overall and news searches, but it seems many Aussies were fixated on the US elections which came out on top in both categories the last 12 months.
Third overall was the NBA, showing the Aussie love for sport no matter where in the world it is, however news searches showed concern for the bushfire season with ‘fires near me’ coming in third.
In Greece’s top news category searches, the US elections and Hagia Sophia followed coronavirus in second and third place.
Lockdowns also saw many trying their hand at viral recipes such as the Dalgona coffee that came in first, with bread, tsoureki, shrimp spaghetti, pancakes, papoutsakia and magiritsa following behind.
