Victoria has recorded three new locally acquired coronavirus cases overnight, all related to the Black Rock restaurant cluster that originated from the outbreak in New South Wales.
There were reportedly 22,477 test results processed on Saturday acting Premier Jacinta Allen said earlier today, while long queues at testing sites are forming every day.
At the moment the total number of COVID-19 infections linked to the Smile Buffalo Thai restaurant has increased to 21.
“These three new locally acquired cases are all linked to the Black Rock cafe cluster, that is a known cluster to a public health team, and there are no new cases associated with the hotel quarantine program,” she said.
“The public health advice is that Victorians should take great comfort from the fact that these are linked cases, strong work has been done by our tracing team, talking to and interviewing the primary and secondary contacts of our case.”
No new cases were acquired interstate or detected in returned travellers in hotel quarantine yesterday.
Meanwhile, there are worries in regards to the 60,000 people that did get a permit to return to Victoria from NSW.
Even though thousands of people went to get tested, many were those that got turned away due to low capacity.
Health authorities urged people that might have symptoms, people that have attended hot spot and of course those returning from other states to follow the messages they have received and the instructions on their permit. If not, authorities will be knocking on doors.
Either way, anyone that has returned from NSW needs to remain in home isolation for 14 days.
