Jim Halamoutis passed away after a lifetime of service to the Greek community of Australia.

Born in Siatista on 19 February 1934 to parents Konstantinos and Agni Halamoutis and siblings Anastasia, Theologia, Naoumis, Zoi and Ioannis.

Dimitrios migrated to Australia in 1953 at 19 years of age.

In 1963 his bride to be Agni Pagarliota from Kozani arrived to marry Dimitrios. Together they worked in a number of businesses and started their family. They were blessed with three daughters Theologia, Kalliopi and Eleni.

The family later expanded to include Chris, Markos and Peter and his much loved grandchildren Theodora, Agni, Nikolaos and Dimitrios.

Dimitrios was one of the founders of the Greek Siatista Club of Melbourne who was passionate about maintaining the traditions and customs of his beloved Siatista.

He was also one of the founders of the Greek Orthodox Church Τιμίου Σταυρού in Box Hill and the representative of the Siatista club at The Pan Macedonian club of Melb and Vic and also on the Committee for The Federation of Kozani.

He will be fondly remembered for his positive outlook on life, his wit and his genuine and infectious personality. Dimitrios will be remembered as a wise and humble man who had a great impact on many people.
