St John’s College in Preston is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2022 school year in academic and Greek language categories.

A school scholarship entitles the recipient to a 50 percent remission of tuition fees but do not cover textbooks, stationery, uniforms, music lessons, co-curricular activities, camps or excursions.

To be eligible for one of the scholarships students will need to enrol to St John’s college and register to sit the ACER Scholarship exam before 3 March. The exam requires $110 registration fee.

Other eligibility criteria includes:

  • Students must be entering into year 5, year 7 or year 10 in 2022
  • Students must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Applicants may apply for one scholarship only

School scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate a high level of academic achievement.  Applicants are assessed using a combination of their academic results from their current school, along with the Formal ACER test results.

Students striving for the academic scholarship will complete humanities, mathematics, science and two written components as part of the ACER exam. Those applying for the Greek language will complete reading and listening tests based on familiarity of language.

The application process also includes an interview with school Principal Anna Urban.

St John’s College aims to provide students with a high academic ability the opportunity, who may not have considered enrolling in a private school, to join the St John’s College community.
