A joint fundraiser by philanthropic organisation Greek Ambassadors and Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria, for a medical and pharmaceutical aid campaign to help Greece’s most vulnerable citizens, will conclude at the end of August.
Since its successful launch on 28 May at Arcadia House, with nine Greek Language Schools of Victoria, community members and other supporters of the campaign pledging their support, donations were given and fundraising events held by the schools Mathesi, AHEPA, Alphington Grammar, GOCMV Afternoon Schools, Maraslios and Oakleigh Grammar Afternoon School, with Omiros, Ariston and Nestoras Schools to follow.
Also, a number of private donations were made, including donations by Rev. Vasilios Kourtessis and the Greek Orthodox Philoptochos Brotherhood of Saints Cyril and Methodius, in Preston.
The campaign will be finalised with the purchase of medicines and medical supplies to be made to the clinic in September.
