Victoria’s ‘traffic light’ travel permit system has designated hotspots in Greater Brisbane, the Gladstone region in Queensland and Byron Shire in NSW as green zones under Victoria’s ‘traffic light’ travel permit system.

Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said that Greater Brisbane, including the areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands, would be listed as green zones from orange in the traffic light system.

The downgrade coincided with the announcement of two new cases of COVID-19 in hotel quarantine in Victoria, less than a week after international flights resumed in the state.

Every location in Australia and New Zealand are now green zones with travellers able to enter Victoria.

Health authorities still require travellers from green zones to show a permit in order to enter Victoria.

The health department said that the Chief Health Officer will continue “monitoring the situation” an provide updates as needed.

Victoria also recorded another day of no new local cases of coronavirus in Victoria.
