The change of location from Darling Harbour to Hunter Valley did not deter Sydneysiders from attending the annual glendi of NSW’s Greek Community.

Over 7,000 attended from around the state and organisers couldn’t be happier.

“The turnout exceeded our expectations,” Greek Festival of Sydney President Nia Karteris told Neos Kosmos.

Ms Karteris didn’t shy away though from admitting there were some complaints received due to the limited number of kiosks available, disproportional to the number of attendees.

“It was the first time we had the festival here, so weren’t expecting so many people,” she explained.

The headline act at the Hope Estate was Dimitris Basis’ concert who amazed audiences.

Performances of dance groups were also met with enthusiasm by the crowd.

Dimitris Basis’ tour will continue in Australia with upcoming concerts in Adelaide and Melbourne.
