Greece’s future stars will take on Australia, Spain and France in the matches which will act as a warm up to the FIBA U/19 World Championships taking place in Auckland, New Zealand the following week. Basketball Australia is hosting the event between June 26-28 at the Aquatic Center, and Melbourne’s vocal and sport-obsessed Greek community is urged to show our youngsters support ahead of the World Championships taking place from July 2-12.

Greece along with Spain and Australia are ranked in the World’s top ten and are likely to meet in the latter stages of the World Championships, so this sneak preview at the Aquatic Center will represent top-quality basketball.

All four teams have achieved massive successes, with Greece’s Bronze in 2007 the most recent. Andrew Bogut led Australia to Gold in 2003 as Australia claimed the ultimate prize, while Spain were World Champion in 1999. France took the third place in 2003.
