Ta Paidia Apo Tin Patra and Zig Zag will be performing at this years Antipodes Festival on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March. They will end off the weekend festivities on both nights at 8.15pm on the main stage.

Ta Paidia Apo Tin Patra’s career spans over three decades, which is no easy feat. The band members, who met at the University of Patras, began their musical journey in 1980 when they realised they all had a common passion for Greek music. From then, they released their first album in 1983 which sold 350,000 copies. They have grown from strength-to-strength ever since.

In 1986, they played at the historical venue in Athens, Panorama with laiko legend Stamati Kokotas, and in 1987, they played with Rita Sakellariou. Ta Paidia Apo Tin Patra have taken their unique contemporary Greek music style all over the world. Their sound not only encapsulates the heart of Greece but also thrusts rebetika and laika music back into the mainstream.

Zig Zag, on the other hand, are known for their energetic and all consuming live performances. The band formed in 1987 and have gone on to produce 15 albums, of which four have become platinum and six golden. Their music, which is an influence of sounds from the East and West, has seen them tour all over the world and play at many festivals. Zig Zag have performed with many famous Greek artists such as Anna Vissa, Giannis Poulopolos, Eleni Vitali and others.
