Crime Stoppers Victoria recognised the contribution media play, particularly ethnic media, in the prevention of crime and thanked Neos Kosmos for their help on Tuesday night.
Simon Overland, Chief of Commissioner of Victoria Police, said the police department could not be as successful in solving crime if it weren’t for the help of Crime Stoppers. He went further to say that the media’s assistance in helping police solve crime is a “great example of partnership and it simply doesn’t work without the media.”
Neos Kosmos works closely with the police and supports Crime Stoppers by allowing space in the newspaper to solve crime.
Crime Stoppers Victoria was first established in 1987. It has given the public confidence to confidentially pick up the phone and report information that could assist police with important investigations.
