North Melbourne Football Club and the AFL have come to an agreement with the Tasmanian Government that will see the Kangaroos play two home matches a year in Hobart, for the next three years at Bellerive Oval in a deal worth $1M annually to North Melbourne.

This latest contract is the second by the Tasmanian Government, as it already has an agreement with the Hawthorn Football Club which plays four matches at Aurora Stadium in Launceston.

No doubt having two AFL teams playing some home games on the Apple Isle will strengthen Tasmania’s case for developing their own AFL side, or a very good chance that the Kangaroos may relocate to Hobart a few years down the track.
