Two new polls publicised on Wednesday show the main opposition New Democracy (ND) party leading in vote preferences. The GPO poll for Mega Channel showed ND leading the ruling PASOK party by 0.9 per cent, garnering 21 per cent of preferences compared to 20.1 per cent for PASOK.
The poll by Real FM, presented by the Alter channel, showed ND leading PASOK by 1.7 per cent, receiving 21.3 per cent of the vote as against 19.6 per cent for PASOK. Mega’s poll shows the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) receiving 9.2 per cent, the Popular Orthodox Rally (Laos) 6.5 per cent, the Radical Left Coalition (Syriza) 4 per cent, the Ecologists-Greens 2.1 per cent, the Democratic Alliance 2 per cent and the Democratic Left 3 per cent. The second poll shows the following percentages for the rest of the parties: KKE 7.6 per cent, Laos 5.1 per cent, Syriza 3.1 per cent, Democratic Alliance 2.4 per cent, Democratic Left 2.3 per cent and Ecologists-Greens 2.3 per cent.
