Renee Yiannakis has been elected as one of the co-captains of Shelford Girls’ Grammar for 2012. She will follow in the footsteps of this year’s co-captain, fellow Greek Australian student Leah Tassios.
As co-captains, both girls appreciate the opportunity this gives them to be leaders and also to work closely with other students and to encourage them to use their skills to enhance the community. Leah believes that Shelford is a special place where student achievements are celebrated.
“Due to the strong sense of community you really share in the accolades for others and their sense of pride.”
Renee is excited about the prospect of assisting students to develop better outcomes, and the opportunity to celebrate the variety of talents of the student population. She understands that leadership involves a team effort, that a leader cannot do everything on their own and that there are many opportunities for others to show leadership and initiative also.
