Rockdale City Council’s inaugural Food ‘n’ Groove was an overwhelming success in 2010.
This year Food ‘n’ Groove is back with the promise of more colour, movement and dance, and taste sensations from around the world. Food ‘n’ Groove is a free family event at Bexley Park on Saturday 22 October from midday – 7.30 pm. Food ‘n’ Groove features a diverse program of performances from many cultures including Brazilian, Bollywood, Folk, Indigenous, Zydeco, Tribal Belly Dance, Bossa Nova, Polynesian and Afro-Colombian.
Rockdale City Councillors Angelo Anestis and Peter Poulos invite families to bring a blanket and come and enjoy family entertainment and great food in the pleasant surrounds of Bexley Park. Cr Poulos said “it is an excellent opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy some of the best that the City of Rockdale has to offer”. Food ‘n’ Groove is also part of Rockdale City Council’s Local Harvest program; you’ll find information and demonstrations based on accessing local and home-grown foods as well as sustainable food options.
This year’s Food ‘n’ Groove is aligned as part of the month-long Crave Sydney International Food Festival, presented by Citibank. For more information contact Council’s Customer Service Centre on (02) 9562 1666.
