John Elias has been found not guilty of charges laid over the NRL betting scandal.
The former rugby league player was charged with trying to obtain financial advantage by deception, as it was alleged that he bet on a penalty goal knowing Bulldogs player Ryan Tandy would deliberately concede a penalty. He was accused of making the bet after he got insider information by Tandy’s manager Sam Ayoub, that he would do this. After a four-day hearing, he was found not guilty.
Elias did not make any comments after he left the court
