This New Year’s Eve, a spectacular 20 minute display of fireworks will illuminate the sky above historic Botany Bay and the beautiful sandy shores of Lady Robinsons Beach, Brighton Le Sands.
Rockdale City Council’s famous annual New Year’s Eve event has made available the perfect place for a family get-together. The fireworks showcase starts at 9 pm this New Year’s Eve, Saturday 31 December.
An 8 kilometre stretch of foreshore, the beautiful Lady Robinsons Beach, stretching from Kyeemagh, near the Airport tunnel to the tree-lined beachfront of Dolls Point, provides the best viewing area with many vantage points for this family celebration for the year to come.
“Our City’s beautiful beachfront is the hub of our City’s New Year’s Eve Celebration. My family, like yours, will be celebrating the coming of 2012 in our local community. Join us in celebrating what the New Year can bring. The City of Rockdale is delighted to help bring some joy this New Year’s Eve,” Mayor Bill Saravinovski said.
Guests are invited to bring your family, bring a picnic rug and celebrate New Year’s Eve in your City. This is an alcohol free event. No alcohol will be permitted on the foreshore.
Those attending the City of Rockdale New Year’s Eve fireworks are advised to bring their own water, food and comforts. Businesses in the region of the foreshore will be open but busy. Council encourages the use of public transport. There will be limited disabled parking available on The Little Grand Parade from 4pm on Saturday 31 December 2011.
