There are many marine wonders from Port Phillip Bay waiting to be discovered by big and small kids alike at Queenscliff’s Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre.
The Discovery Centre will kick off its summer with the Sea Holiday Program on December 28, offering guided activities designed to captivate the minds of children of all ages.
Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre’s Senior Education Officer Alex Giannuzzi said visitors could explore the centre’s aquarium with the help of trained volunteers and Fisheries Victoria education officers.
“The Discovery Centre’s programs focus on providing participants with an understanding of our marine, coastal and estuarine resources in a fun hands-on way,” Ms Giannuzzi said.
“We also encourage visitors to participate in special daily events and book in for activities such as craft, family fishing trips, rockpool rambles and mudflat meanders.”
The Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre’s aquarium will be open on weekdays during the summer school holidays from 10am to 4pm, and the Summer by the Sea Holiday Program runs from December 28 to January 25 (closed New Year’s Day).
