Eleftherotypia newspaper publisher Mania Tegopoulou filed for protection from the daily’s creditors under Article 99 of the Bankruptcy Code midweek.
The move came after the company failed to secure funding to keep the publication in print and an ongoing dispute
with the newspaper’s employees, who are owed several months’ worth of wages. Eleftherotypia was established in 1975.
