Australia and Uzbekistan will come head to head for the Men’s Asian Olympic Qualifiers. The event will take place this weekend on Sunday February 5 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The two teams had first faced each other in Doha in November last year, where the two teams came to a draw. Both teams reached a draw yet again in January when the Olyroos hosted a home qualifier in Sydney. Following several scoreless runs, the Aussies must now win future matches that fall into their laps to avoid failing to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
Two away matches in February in Uzbekistan and the UAE will be critical for their chances before a final home game against Iraq in March.
