The house that has the infamous Snowtown bank attached, is going up for sale on eBay.

It’s being touted as a good family home, even though police discovered eight mutilated bodies in barrels inside the vault of the bank in 1999.

Nigel Christie, sales director of Hale Real Estate in SA, said he would mention it’s past in line with eBay police on murder memorabilia but that buyers should contact him for more information.

Mr Christie says the house is the ideal family home in a quiet rural town in South Australia. “It would be ideal as an investment, because you could rent out the business premises plus the home,” he said.

Mr Christie said the house will be on Ebay for a 30-day auction. He said he had been told the property would also make an ideal bed and breakfast business, with a “come and stay here if you dare” theme. The property will also be advertised locally, with open inspection times yet to be confirmed.

James Vlassakis along with his mother and half-brother, was involved in helping with the Snowtown murders and would later become the Crown’s star witness in the trials.
