In what may turn out to be the biggest embezzlement case documented in the armed forces, a prosecutor is investigating the whereabouts of 683,000 euros that went missing from air force coffers.
The sizable gap in the cash drawer of the 112 Combat Wing was discovered during a regular audit a few days ago, and it is believed that the money had been extracted gradually since September.
