The Australian Industrial Systems Institute (AISI) will be holding a seminar to inform Greeks in Australia on the various visas available to them, and assist them in any queries they may have concerning migration to Australia.

Roula Tsiolis, Chief Executive officer and managing director of AISI, noticed a gap in the information given to new arrivals and visitors from Greece. She was given feedback from the new arrivals who thought websites such as the immigration department’s were at times confusing, and they would often repeat the same questions they had answered when first entering the site.
The seminar aims at demystifying visas and migration protocol, and in a high level way, inform and education people on what options they have available.

“It’s going to be a presentation of all the different types of visas available for anyone from any country and we are going to have professionals here, migration lawyers and migration agents, who will be able to assist with specific questions,” says Ms Tsiolis who added that if people have more specific questions about their personal circumstances, they will be able to book time with the migration professionals.
Those attending the seminar will leave the day more informed about choices available to them.

The seminar is structured in two-tiers over the day – an information seminar in the morning and an enrolment session for those wanting to take their student visa applications further in the afternoon.

“We are hoping that with a couple more of these sessions that people will have less queries … with specific questions and answer [opportunities] and hand-outs, people will get some more information,” Ms Tsiolis told Neos Kosmos.
“It will be very basic and very specific … there is no point in talking about working holiday visas for example when they don’t exist to people in Greece – you eliminate that, which is the impression that people have from coming from Greece as there has been so much media around it. It’s important to tell them what is available, for them to make more informed choices.”

The seminar will take place on Saturday 24 March at the venue which is stated on the official invitation to participants by the institute from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
