For all of us who love to stream music on the spot, and use Spotify to do so, then look out world as they 12 new third party applications have been announced for your listening pleasure … or late night party.

The 12 new apps available on its service are from a host of music companies and include: Classify; The Complete Collection; Def Jam; Digster; Domino; Filtr; Hot or Not; The Legacy Of; Matador Records; [PIAS]; TweetVine; and The Warner sound.

These new apps offer something for everyone with classical music, hip hop and R’n’B. There’s even a ‘hot or not?’ app asking listeners to decide between two tracks and determine which one is better… or hotter. Spotify, who opened it’s service to app developers back in November, are trying to compete with the big guns Apple and Facebook but the reality is, it’s gonna be tough. But, the new offering is still in it’s primary stages and if it can prove to developers that there is a strong call for app usage on this streaming music medium, they may jump at the chance to offer their apps to Spotify.
