The leader of Democratic Alliance, Dora Bakoyannis, says that she is willing to participate in a Pasok-New Democracy coalition after the elections but under specific conditions.
“We will cooperate in a coalition government but we will cooperate under specific conditions which we have stated openly to the Greek people,” said Bakoyannis.
She emphasises that her party, which had four MPs in the outgoing parliament, is the only party that has clearly stated that it is willing to enter a coalition.
Some recent polls have found that Pasok and New Democracy may not win the support required to form a two-party coalition, but they have also suggested that Bakoyannis’ party at the polls may not cross the three per cent threshold necessary to enter parliament.
Evangelos Venizelos, the Pasok leader, has also stated in recent days that he would like to see all pro-European forces form a government after the elections.
On the other hand, the New Democracy leader, Antonis Samaras, has insisted that his party will win an overall majority.
