A DVD in Greek will be launched today highlighting issues relating to gambling on what it’s really costing you.
The documentary features interviews with counsellors, doctors and community leaders and provides information about the counselling services and support materials available in five key languages, including Greek.
It highlights the fact that many people in culturally and linguistically diverse communities struggle with gambling and that there is no shame in having a problem or seeking professional help. What’s Gambling Really Costing You? uses a problem gambler, community members and simple facts to get the message across and each DVD is adapted to dispel superstitions unique to these cultures.
The launch will be held on Monday 14 May at SBS in Artarmon at 10:00 am for a 10:30 am start. Official proceedings will finish at 11:15am. RSVP Nidia Raya Martinez on nidia.rayamartinez@sesiahs.health.nsw.gov.au or phone 9816 0347.
