The Greek men’s national basketball team will visit Victoria in June this year to play the Australian Boomers in a three-match international event called The Farewell Series.
The series, which is a vital part of the Boomers’ Olympic preparations for London 2012, will see Australia play Greece in Melbourne and Geelong.
The series will open on Sunday 24 June when the Boomers host the Greeks at Melbourne’s Hisense Arena in a double-header of international action.
Game Two between the teams will be held at the brand new State Basketball Centre at Knox in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs on Monday 25 June.
The series decider will be staged at the Geelong Arena on Wednesday 27 June.
Greece are yet to name their team for the series but it is expected to include a mix of veteran players and rising stars from the Greek national team.
