Nick Alexandrides has been appointed magistrate in South Australia.
Alexandrides, the former chief of staff of Mike Rann, was on permanent unpaid leave from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions while working for Mr Rann.
He has been appointed magistrate alongside lawyer Phillip Broderick and David McLeod, who previously acted for Guantanamo Bay inmate David Hicks and Michelle Chantelois, the woman who claimed she had an affair with the former premier.
