Tim Cahill heads a group of six players returning to the Socceroos squad for the friendly against Lebanon on September 6 ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Jordan in Amman a week later.
Cahill, Matt McKay, Jade North, Nikita Rukavytsya, Adam Sarota and Matthew Spiranovic all missed Australia’s 3-1 loss to Scotland earlier this month but are back in the 22-man squad for the Lebanon friendly.
Jason Davidson and Ryan McGowan have been retained in the squad after making their debuts against Scotland, while Austria-based midfielder James Holland has been selected for the first time since March.
Veteran goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer will become the first Australian male football player to play 100 A-International matches should he play against Lebanon.
Defender Mark Milligan was unavailable for selection while he serves a suspension for being sent off against Japan in Brisbane in June.
Australia will resume its World Cup qualifying campaign against Jordan early on September 12.
Following a draw against Oman and Japan the Socceroos are in third place in their World Cup qualifying group with the top two teams advancing to the 2016 tournament in Brazil.
Socceroos squad: Mark Bresciano, Alex Brosque, Tim Cahill, David Carney, Jason Davidson, Adam Federici, James Holland, Brett Holman, Mile Jedinak, Robbie Kruse, Mitchell Langerak, Ryan McGowan, Matthew McKay, Lucas Neill (captain), Jade North, Sasa Ognenovski, Nikita Rukavytsya, Adam Sarota, Mark Schwarzer, Matthew Spiranovic, Archie Thompson and Luke Wilkshire.
