The 10th International Conference on Greek Research and the 2nd International Conference on Ageing in a Foreign Land will be held at Flinders University in Adelaide, from 27 to 30 June 2013.
The inter-disciplinary conference will explore themes from Greek and Cypriot studies and generational perspectives on ageing. The organisers of the conference welcome attendance from academics, researchers, practitioners and policy makers and aged care providers. Research paper abstracts (of up to 200 words) are due to be submitted by 15 February 2013.
The 10th International Conference on Greek Research is a 4-day event in which research papers will be presented on studies related to Greek and Cypriot themes, as well as general perspectives on ageing.
A vibrant program will be dedicated to papers and posters relating to Greek and Cypriot studies that will continue the tradition of the international conferences on Greek research, and one day of professional development for teachers of Modern Greek.
The conference will include the following areas of research: literature and philosophy; Cyprus from 1960-2013: 53 years later; education; generational perspectives on ageing; learning languages online; history and migration; professional development for teachers in modern Greek; and society and culture. The conference will be hosted by LOGOS Australian Centre for Hellenic Language and Culture and the Department of Language Studies at Flinders University, and supported by The Foundation for Hellenic Studies.
Although abstracts should be received by 15 February 2013, early submissions are encouraged, as the number of presentations is limited. To submit an abstract (up to 200 words), visit the conference website – www.flinders.edu.au/ehl/conferences/greek/research2013/ The same criterion applies for virtual participation, an option available for participants who are unable to attend the conference in-person but wish to send their paper.
