Term 2 of the GACL (Greek-Australian Cultural League) Kids online art and culture program kicks off during the school holidays on 29 June with a paper weaving activity.

Penelope and her Weaving takes place online on Tuesday, 29 June. The activity is aims to engage the children in the process of weaving using just paper and scissors while they listen to the story of Penelope and her weaving.

On Wednesday, 30 June objects around the house will be used to create amazing flower effects while the story is told of Clytie, the sad sunflower, Iris the rainbow goddess, Asterea, goddess of the starry sky and other ancient nymphs and maidens.

Feather painting will be the activity on Thursday, 1 July. In “Icarus and his Wings” children will have the opportunity to explore the story of Icarus and what happened to his wings while created their own amazing set of wings.

As with all the GACL Kids projects, the activities are for six to 12-year-olds and will start at 10.30am to finish by 12 noon each day.
