St Euphemia College in Bankstown was one of 32 schools across Australia to receive funding under the third round of the Secure Schools program. The school received $323,000 under the Federal Government’s Secure Schools Program to install CCTV, fencing, intercom and Access Control.
“Parents have the right to expect their children will be safe at school,” Federal Member for Blaxland and Minister for Home Affairs and Justice, Jason Clare MP said.
“This upgrade will give peace of mind to students and teachers as they get on with their day-to-day learning.”
Schools were nominated by States and Territories and independent schools associations. They were then invited by the Australian Government to apply for funding, with the most urgent security needs selected. The first two rounds of this program provided $19.8 million for safety upgrades to 54 schools across Australia.
