Fans will be treated to a triple header match day at Blick Oval in Ashbury, Sydney, this Sunday, with 1:00 pm Belmore United’s State League Reserve Grade game and 3:00 pm First Grade match, followed by a Belmore Over 35s team, including former Socceroos and NSL stars.

Belmore United FC will host Hurstville City Minotaurs in a First Grade game that is expected to bring some serious football action by two local rivals in round seven of NSW League Two.

The much anticipated annual clash between historical rivals Belmore United at home against ever improving Hurstville City Minotaurs will certainly be a close encounter.

In round 6 of NSW Men’s State League Two, Belmore United FC defeated Schofield Scorpions 3-0 last weekend, with two goals from Pablo Cardozo, Australia’s fifth highest all-time goal scorer and a third by Andrew Lazarou.

Hurstville City have much to play for after Western Condors scored a 2-0 win over the Minotaurs on Sunday afternoon.

Belmore’s First Grade Coach, George Lazarou indicated “this is an important match for both teams and we expect a Cup like local derby for the fans”.

There will be a sprinkling of former Socceroo and National Soccer League stars that will be on show in a forthcoming Canterbury District Soccer Football Association, in the Over 35s match between Belmore United and Leichhardt Tigers A’s.

Belmore United will feature a number of former stars such as Peter Papoythis, Peter Tsekenis, Manny Spanoudakis, Ante Alilovic, Ante Juric, and Paul Okon; while Leichhardt Tigers A’s will have Johnny Buonavoglia and Chris Jones, in what will be a great match between two very experienced sides.

The entry is free. Family entertainment, including a jumping castle for junior fans, will be available at Blick Oval. Gates open from 12:30 pm.
