Greek Australian brothers, Dean and Anthony Bouzanis will be getting a lot of attention as pre-season begins for the A-League while the Young Socceroos aim to qualify.

Younger brother Anthony, who plays for Sydney United has just been selected to join the Young Socceroos in Holland on a training camp before the Under 20’s Championships at Turkey in June.

The 17-year-old be trying to impress Young Socceroos coach Paul Okon while trying to beat other goalie contenders including Adelaide United’s Paul Izzo, Oldham’s Liam Jacobs and Newcastle Jet’s Jack Duncan.

Despite starting his soccer career as an outfielder, he soon switched to the goalie side after watching his brother play.

Dean is back in Sydney, after he was just released by League One side Oldham Athletic. He was the club’s first-choice goalkeeper for the majority of the 2012-2013 season – playing 36 games – and started in the fourth round FA Cup win over his former club Liverpool earlier this year.

The 22-year-old is now looking for another club and wants to set himself up in the Australian leagues again. He joined Liverpool as a teenager in 2007 and has been a rising star in Europe.

For Anthony, he’ll have until June 22 to show his chops, when the young Socceroos play Colombia. Older brother Dean is back at a crucial time, when many A-League coaches are scouting new players while consolidating the 2013/14 team.
