Police believe that missing Greek Australian Lambrini Andreopoulos could be alive and well in Melbourne. The teenager, who went missing on March 25, 1978, is said to be alive and still living in the city. Police said this week that they have received new information that has led them to believe Andreopoulos is alive but has since changed her name.
The teenager was 13 when she went missing more than 30 years ago, and was last seen heading to Footscray Girls’ School from her family’s home in Charles Street, Seddon.
“Our information is that she may have changed her name and started a new life for herself,” Detective Senior Constable Brendan O’Mahoney told The Age.
“That is totally her prerogative but we need to know that she is OK.”
Senior Detective O’Mahoney has urged Andreopoulos – or those that know her – to call Crimestoppers.
