Aussie Terry Antonis is looking at his options after his Series A side has denied him the first instalment of his transfer fee. Parma FC was due to pay $100,000 to Sydney FC this month but missed its payment date, showing signs the side is in financial trouble. Another $200,000 will need to be paid during the year to finalise the transfer.

The 19-year-old Sky Blues midfielder has been troubled by injury during pre-season and won’t be able to play for another three weeks, something that might have sparked a lack of interest from the Italian team. He is still contracted to Sydney FC for another two seasons.

Talking to SBS’s Dave Lewis, Antonis mentioned his future won’t be affected too much if he isn’t taken up by the Italian side.

“Of course I would love to go to Italy and show what I can do but if it is not to be, then I am fine with it and I’ll just give my all for Sydney,” he said.

Sydney FC has admitted it has heard nothing from Parma, and the Professional Footballers Association says some paperwork has not been put together.
