Katerina Thoidou, a journalist and a member of the Socialist Workers Party (SEK) and of the Movement Unite Against Fascism and the Racist Threat (KEERFA) in Greece is coming to Australia next week in order to participate in the congress of the sister organization of SEK in Australia, ‘Solidarity’, to be held in Sydney.
Prior to her visit in Sydney Katerina Thoidou will visit Melbourne, where she will be giving three speeches on three different occasions.
On Monday 12 August at 7.00 pm at the Cultural Centre ‘Democritus’, 583 High Street, Northcote, she will be speaking about the struggles of the working class and the Greek society against the austerity measures and the fascist threat.
On Tuesday 13 August at 6.30 pm, at Melbourne’s Trades Hall Building, in Meeting Room 1, corner of Lygon and Victoria Streets Carlton. Her speech is entitled ‘Europe: Crisis, Austerity and Resistance’.
The third and last address will be on Wednesday 14 August 14 at 12.00 pm, at the University of Melbourne, at the Graham Cornish Rooms, 2nd floor, Union House, where she will be talking about the antifascist struggle in Greece.
