Greek author George Katselis has released a new children’s book entitled The Thirteenth Goddess and The Stolen Marbles of Acropolis. As the title suggests, the book is a way to draw attention to the ongoing struggle to get the Elgin Marbles back to Greece from the British Museum.
The plot follows a young girl called Melina, who lives in the Acropolis among a series of sculptures of great craftsmanship created by her grandfather, the great sculptor Pheidias. Only she can make the statues come alive. With her gift, Melina must protect the sculptures from the evil lurking nearby. The book, published in Greek and English, is sold in Athens, but can be bought online as an ebook at the itunes store (https://itunes.apple.com/gr/book/id625146072?mt=11&affId=2189659)
