A possible newly created super-ministry by Tony Abbott would see Greek Ausralian Senator and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary Arthur Sinodinos make critical decisions for Australia in the finance portfolio, should the opposition win the election.
In a reported dramatic restructure of his economic team, Mr Abbott, with his deputy Julie Bishop, is prepared to create a new super-ministry – spearheaded by Shadow Finance Minister Andrew Robb – promoting Mr Sinodinos into the top role of Finance Minister to boost economic and commercial opportunities for Australia.
This goes against claims by the Federal Government that the mining boom is over, with the main objectives for the new ministry being to attract $150 billion of investment in new resource projects over the next few years.
