A screening of the Greek movie Balkanisateur (Βαλκανιζατέρ), 1997, 97′, will be held by the Greek Film Society Sydney (GFSS).
Two friends from a small Greek town travel through Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Switzerland, hoping they can gain money from the difference in foreign exchange rates.
Everything goes wrong in this comedy about Balkan mentalities and get-rich-quick plans.
The road movie follows the tragicomic adventure of Fotis and Stavros, friends and partners whose attempts to ‘strike it rich’ take them across the Balkans and Western Europe.
The movie is a hilarious adventure of two ‘thirty five year-old… teenagers’ on the road to maturity.
Balkanisateur will screen on Wednesday 4 September at 7.00 pm at the Greek Atlas Community and Cultural Centre, 96 Illawarra Road, Marrickville (Sydney).
