Olympiakos will face France’s Paris Saint Germain, Portugal’s SL Benfica and Belgium’s RSC Anderlecht in their first group section for their Champions League conquest.
Despite leading proceedings in Superleague, Olympiakos will need a lot of luck on its side to get through its group stages.

In the group selection process on Thursday, four former winners with 16 titles between them – FC Barcelona, AC Milan, AFC Ajax and Celtic FC – will be pitted together in the UEFA Champions League group stage draw.

FC Barcelona and AC Milan, 11-time winners between them, top the bill in Group H and could cause a major fan upset if they are kicked out early on in the competition.

The opening UEFA Champions League group stage fixtures will take place on 17 and 18 September, with the Lisbon final scheduled for Saturday 24 May.

Europa League

Atromitos had just 30 minutes to turn things around, as their Europa League qualifying match against AZ Alkmaar was abandoned in the sixtieth minute on Thursday due to electrical problems in the stadium. The game resumed, with Atromitos managing to score another goal, but sadly the away goals saw them pushed out of the competition. The 3-2 aggregate was enough for AZ to carry on.

The Cypriot teams had some good and back luck. Apollon Limassol secured their future in the League, going through against France’s Nice despite a 1-0 loss. Their goal aggregate saved them, sending them through to the next round.

APOEL couldn’t keep up its momentum, falling 1-2 to Zulte Waregem.
