Collingwood ruckman Darren Jolly has become the first casualty of the Magpies’ AFL finals exit. Jolly was told on Monday he was to be delisted from the side. Jolly, who turns 32 before next season begins, because of injury issues only played nine games for the ‘Pies this year.

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley stated there would be some hard questions asked about the playing squad and culture at the club in the aftermath of the unlikely elimination final defeat by Port Adelaide last Saturday night which ended the Magpies’ season. Jolly, a dual premiership player with Sydney 2005 and Collingwood 2010, has recently been overshadowed by the emergence of young Magpie Brodie Grundy as number one ruckman.

Other players that got the chop from the Magpies this week are; Alan Didak, Andrew Krakouer, Jordan Russell along with rookies Ben Richmond and Michael Hartley.
