The Socceroos will take on Canada’s national team in a friendly in London just four days after they play France in Paris.

The team will be looking to bounce back from their abysmal 6-0 loss to Brazil and get all the match practice they can get ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
The friendly match was warmly welcomed by coach Holger Osieck.

“The opportunity came up to play Canada on the second FIFA match date in October after we play France on the Friday evening in Paris,” said Osieck.

“For us it is important to play as many international matches as possible in the lead-up to the World Cup.”

The Socceroos will play Canada at Fulham’s home ground, Craven Cottage, on Tuesday, October 15. Canada is currently ranked 106 in the FIFA world rankings, and Australia has been demoted to 53.
